Palace of The Golden Horses

as promised, here's the post of me & my wife at the Palace of The Golden Horses....

last weekend, we spent the saturday nite at the Palace of The Golden horses....we got the free 1 nite stay at there upon signing up for the Palace Vacation Club membership (http://www.palacevacationclub.com/) thanks to my friend Hazrin for submitting my name for the invitation to join the PVC....not sure whether i should be mad or glad to him.... :P also upon signing up, we got another 2 nites for 2 rooms stay at the Palace of The Golden Horses, 3 days 2 nites stay at PVC internal resorts, free RCI bonus week of 7 nites, 7 nites entitlement stay at PVC internal & affilliate resorts and a voucher of 1 nite stay at the PGH (Palace of The Golden Horses) which used it last saturday weekend to celebrate our 6th anniversary of being a couple (wow!it's that long).....and also plus several other vouchers we were given upon signing up....

we checked in at the hotel at around 3.30 pm....after checking in at the reception, we headed to our room....we got the deluxe room which was the cheapest but when we entered the room it was "WOW~".....although deluxe was the cheapest, it costs 700++ per room per nite....never in my life had i slept in a hotel room that costs almost 800 ringgit and will definitely won't be spending almost 800 ringgit on a hotel room for only 1 nite....heheh....i'll let the pics say the words....

after checking in, we then took a walk around the hotel....seriously it was one of the best hotel that i've ever seen...the design, the layout, the decorations, no wonder it was called 'Asia's Most Extraordinary Hotel'....since it was Asia's Most Extraordinary Hotel, it was expected too that the price of food and cuisines are extraordinary as well.... :P due to the extraordinary price of the food & beverages, we decided to go to The Mines Shopping Fair instead to have diner there.....after diner, went back to the hotel and called off for the day....

the next day, it's time to checkout of the hotel....like every other normal hotels, checkout time was 12 pm and at exactly 12 pm, we were at the reception to checkout....but we're coming back next time PGH....it's gonna be another 2 times....hehehehe....

entering adulthood ep. 3 & 4

it's already december now....it's almost time to bid farewell to 2010....was quite busy for the past few weeks...finalizing my masters thesis report....at last, i've completed my masters degree in computer networks....phewwww~....what a relieve....felt like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulder....

about a couple of weeks ago, me & my wife attended 2 wedding ceremonies....2 days in a row....one on a saturday, one on a sunday.....that particular week, i think there was at least 5 weddings that was held....the 1st one which was on saturday was my bachelors degree coursemate, master degree coursemate & my ex-colleague at HP wedding which was held at his residence at gombak, near the batu caves....knew him for about 6 years already and eventually, i was the one who brought him into HP....me & my wife headed to the wedding ceremony a little bit later coz we wanted to join the rest of the old gangs....reached there around 2~3 o'clock i think....had a photography session first before headed to the dining table.....the dishes were quite okay...quite delicious.....not long after that, the rest of my friends arrived....after a few more photograph shots, it's time to make a move....felt a little bit lazy to head back home as we were going to attend the solemnization of my another friend at nite....so, we headed to ikea instead to kill some time together with the rest of the gang....after maghrib prayers, we made a move to kg sungai penchala, the bride's home where loki & jieja will be pronounced husband & wife.....the solemnization ceremony i can say was the fastest & most express of all other solemnization ceremony that i've ever seen or attended....their solemnization the most i think was only 20 minutes....compared to mine previously, an hour!.....after we had our meal there, it's time call off for the day....

the next day, around lunch time, we went to attend loki & jieja's wedding reception....the crowd was merry....quite many familiar faces could be seen....the dishes were splendid, especially the lempeng....and there was even a lucky draw!....first time seeing a lucky draw on a wedding reception... :P

next post, me & my wife's stay at the Palace of The Golden Horses....stay tuned....

entering adulthood ep. 2 part 2

after johor, it's Kajang's turn....saturday recently was my cousin paan's wedding side at Kajang....it was a 3 days 3 nights festival which started on thursday....around 7.30 pm after work, i headed to Kajang to my cousin's house as there was a bacaan tahlil....almost everyone was there, alang, acu, achik (ofcoz), tok chik and even opah chu....the only ones that were not present were my parents as they were only coming down on the next day....diner dishes were splendid...daging salai masak lemak, udang masak sambal petai and etc....yummy....left my uncle's house at about 11 pm as i'm working the next day....so, can't stay long with the rest of the family members.....the next day after work, shot straight away to kajang to lend a hand for the big day preparation....apart from that, my parents were already there at my uncle's house....besides the preparation, my uncle even set up a karaoke session for those who wanna show off their talent :P .....at about 12 o'clock midnite, me, my parents & my sister head back to my crib....couldn't stay longer as tomorow is the big day....

at about 9.30 in the morning, all of us headed to kajang accept for my wife as she will be accompanying my mother in law later to the wedding....reached there about 10.15 and everyone looked busy already...hence we made ourselves looked busy as well :P .....helped here and there.....later on i volunteered to be the person to welcome the bride's entourage and escorted them to where the bride & groom are located before the procession to the wedding place...around 1.30 pm, we then marched to the wedding place with the bride's entourage escorting the couple accompanied by the seizure of the kompang....and as usual, upon arriving, the ceremony started with menepung tawar by senior family members onto the bride & groom....after that, it's time for the couple to makan (me too :P)....and after makan, it's photograph session for family members and the bride & groom....the ceremony officially ended at about 4 pm but family members are still there.....

later on, some went back to their homes and will be coming back later and some stayed for the nite's cutting cake ceremony....i went back home too for a while to take a bath and to fetch my wife and sis as they did not stayed long after the wedding ceremony....reached kajang back at about 8.30, the ceremony hasn't started yet (luckily...)....about 9.30 i think, the ceremony started with paan wearing a suit and laila wearing a wedding gown....after the cut cake ceremony, the finale was a short firework show....i dunno how but seriously my uncle held a firework show....after that, some went back home while some showed their talent at the karaoke session....for me, my wife, parents & sister, we hanged there for a little while to take a few shots of photos of the bride & groom....at about 11.30 pm, it's time to call the day off.....

entering adulthood ep. 2 part 1

last friday, me & my wife together with my parents went to sg. rengit, johor to convoy my cousin, paan's solemnization & the bride's side wedding....it was one of the longest driving journey i've endured in my life....from kl to the Tanjung Kapal Resort at Sg. Rengit Johor was 8~9 hours total journey time including breaks at R&R....paan will have a hard time going back to johor for raya :P.....we first stopped at the Air Keroh, Malacca R&R to have our breakfast and then continued the journey and we exited at the Kulai exit...and continued to Kota Tinggi to settle a few thigs there by my mom and to take a look at the hotel that we're gonna put a nite on the next day...b4 we continued the journey to Sg. Rengit, we stopped by the famous Pak Din Putu Bambu....u must try it if you are at Kota Tinggi....believe me, u won't regret it....continued the journey again and we arrived at last at the Tanjung Kapal Resort at Sg. Rengit at about 3 o'clock...it felt like it was a never ending journey...phewww~....upon arriving we relaxed and enjoyed the not so very interesting sea view while waiting for the rest of the family members to arrive....then at approximately 7.15 pm, we head to the one of the mosque at Sg. Rengit to convoy paan for his engagement and the later solemnization after Isya' prayers....the hantaran that paan get from the girl's side was quite marvelous, a Blackberry phone and a nintendo wii console (i bet paan who's the one that asked for it :P)....the ceremony ended at about 11 pm and it's time to head back to the resort and have a good nite sleep....

then on the next day, saturday morning, had breakfast while gazing at the sea...and at about 12.30 pm, it's time to make a move to the wedding ceremony venue.....the convoy begins and about 30 minutes we were there....the food wasn't too bad (that's becoz we had dishes of the bride & grooms table :P)....after about 2 hours, it's time to hit the road to Kota Tinggi back to put a nite at the Rest Inn Hotel Kota Tinggi....stopped by at Desaru for a while to see the beaches but didn't really had the opportunity as it was gonna rain....we reached the Rest Inn Hotel Kota Tinggi at about 5.30 pm and checked in straight away....the hotel room was really not bad at all....the condition was tip top (probably due to it is a new hotel)....and with the cheap rate, it was really worth it....and on top of that, there's free wi-fi.....after maghrib prayers, we went out to had diner at Restoran Seafood Hassan Ong recommended by someone to my mum....similar to the Restoran Haji Shahrin Low....chinese muslim....the food was really delicious, splendid and most important, chinese style....86 ringgit for 4 person with 5 dishes, 4 drinks and 4 deserts, it was quite worth it....before 9 pm we were already at the hotel room and it's time to call off for the day...

sunday, it was time to head back to kl....what a long journey it was....phewww~....

Training with the expert

hola2....it's been a while haven't updated here....was quite bz every weekend the raya month....the last post was on early syawal and now syawal is already over....missed the raya cuisines (lemang especially...) & the open houses....well, see u around again next year syawal.....

last thursday me & a few of my colleagues had a training with one of the experts in the Agilent account who is also the 4th & 5th level, Daniel Lankford.....this guy has been with Agilent & HP for about 8 years, so he knows inside & out of the architecture.....Dan was in KL for a 2 weeks on business trip and is here to assist the IMT(Incident Management Team) & WWPMT(World Wide Problem Management Team).....the 1st week was more of meetings with the bosses & having a better picture of how our operation is here.....and the 2nd week was reserved for training both IMT & WWPMT.....our group's training was on thursday.....it was the best training that we ever had compared with the other trainers....Dan's explanation was the best & the details were the most detailed....very lucky for the new guys (teck ve & terence) to be able to train with the best.....it was a 1 whole day training & basically everything about Agilent has been covered from WAN to LAN to Wireless to Firewall to Proxies to VPN (phewww...) and are mostly from the technical perspective....so, no more excuses not to troubleshoot anymore....probably we could even be the level 3 guys now :P ....thanks for the solid training Dan....hope u had a safe journey back to Colorado....
